South Coast Community Services is seeking a Parent Partner to mentor parents and caregivers within the Adoption Assistance Program. The role emphasizes empathy, lived experience, and guiding families through the CA High-Fidelity Wraparound model to maximize permanency and well-being.

You will participate in Child and Family Team meetings, support plan implementation, and advocate for family voices across all four Wraparound phases, promoting strength-based, outcome-focused care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; writing skills adequate to complete documentation.
• Lived experience as the parent/caregiver capacity of an adopted youth preferred.
• Personal or professional experience navigating child welfare, juvenile justice, educational or mental health systems.
• Experience accessing community resources.

Responsabilités

• Actively participate in the engagement process by providing reassurance and maintaining confidentiality.
• Orient families to Wraparound processes; use lived experience to guide through system structures and barriers.
• Help families access resources; empower them to advocate for themselves and be connected to supports.
• Prepare families before meetings to advocate confidently and share perspectives during decisions.
