Job summary

Redwood Community Services, Inc. in Lakeport, CA is seeking a Parent Partner for Wraparound services. The role provides active, hands-on peer support to parents/caregivers or youth/clients in Wraparound programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be willing to share their life experience.
• Must be the biological, adoptive, kin parent or a non-related family member of a youth with emotional or behavioral challenges or have prior systems experience with their child.
• Life experience as a parent of a youth with emotional or behavioral challenges is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches skills for parents to participate effectively in the Wraparound process.
• Builds hope for families and clients.
• Connects with client/family on a personal level to build trust and rapport.
• Participates in identifying team members and developing motivational strategies to ensure commitment.
• Explains the parents’ perspective and culture to increase understanding and reduce differences.
• Assesses the level of support needed by the parent based on family networks and involvement.
