Job summary

San Diego Center for Children seeks a Parent Partner/Peer Support Specialist to provide therapeutic services and support to families within wraparound teams and in individual meetings. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, schools, and community partners to support children’s behavioral health needs.

The position requires engagement with diverse families, adherence to Medi-Cal requirements, and ongoing participation in training to deliver high fidelity wraparound services.

Qualifications

• Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience as a consumer or caregiver of Children’s Behavioral Health Services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide education, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management and other therapeutic services in a community-based setting.
• Coordinate and develop linguistically and culturally diverse resources for families.
• Share personal story to engage families and inform clinical staff about parenting challenges.
• Provide culturally competent education and hands-on coaching to parents.
• Triage crisis situations with the team and connect to resources to maintain safety.
• Maintain accurate case records per Medi-Cal and SDCC policies.
