Empowering Direct Support Specialist - Community Living

Job summary

ResCare Community Living, a part of the Sevita family, provides direct support within residential settings for individuals with disabilities. This non-exempt, hourly role supports 4–6 residents per program and may include up to 10 in periodic programs.

You will deliver services per individual plans, assist with daily living activities, document progress, maintain confidentiality, and follow safety and health care protocols. A valid driver’s license is required and high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver support per individual service/program plans, including socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, skill/behavioral development.
• Assist with daily activities: Personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, citizenship, and other activities of daily living.
• Accurately documents progress and activity; reviews records and logs to stay abreast of changes in service plans; maintains confidentiality.
• Maintain safety and follow health care directives.

Education
