Job summary

Nue Beginnings Residence Home Incor in Marietta, GA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to deliver compassionate, person-centered care for individuals with IDD or physical impairments. You will empower clients to live independently, safely, and with dignity while fostering inclusion in their communities.

The DSP will assist with personal care, daily living activities, meal planning, and medication supervision.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience preferred.
• 21+ years old.
• Clean driving record.
• BLS Certification (preferred).
• Mindset Training (preferred).
• Reliable, patient, and professional.
• Strong community navigation skills.
• You must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care (hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting).
• Support daily living activities like meal planning, preparation, feeding, and household chores.
• Encourage independence by supervising self-administration of medication.
• Monitor health changes and report concerns promptly.
• Provide mobility and safety assistance with transfers, ambulation, and adaptive devices.
• Accompany individuals to appointments, errands, and community events.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and health updates.
• Follow behavioral support plans and promote positive outcomes.
• Advocate for self-expression, choice-making, and independence.
• Encourage community inclusion through social, recreational, and vocational activities.
• Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure seamless care.

Education

High School Diploma/GED Some college (preferred)
