Job summary

Qualifications

• Grant-funded programs require meeting at least one specified educational/assessment requirement before hire.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain is preferred.
• Experience or coursework in education or child development is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Reinforce reading, writing, and math concepts in small groups or one-on-one.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and participation in activities.
• Encourage positive behavior and self-regulation strategies.
• Monitor and document student progress under supervising staff.
• Communicate observations to teachers and administrators.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
• Demonstrate commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices.
