Job summary

Marysville School District 25 seeks a paraprofessional to support students under certificated staff in classrooms and other learning environments as assigned. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, behavior support, and student care as needed.

The position requires WA paraprofessional qualifications, completion of required trainings, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. First Aid, CPR and Right Response training must be completed within 30 days of hire and maintained

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Transcript or degree evidence per WA requirements (72 quarter credits or an associate degree).
• Parapro Assessment score 461+ required or equivalence.
• 14 hours of Fundamental Course of Study in first year.
• 70 hours of professional development for paraeducator certification.
• First Aid & CPR training to be maintained.
• Right Response training to be maintained.
• Immunization proof as applicable.
• I-9 Employment Eligibility compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist students one-to-one or in small groups with instructional areas.
• Assist with conflict resolution and behavior improvement.
• Help teachers prepare learning materials and visual aids.
• Support students with special needs and behavior techniques.
• Assist in gross and fine motor strengthening activities.
• Support speech and language activities and cognitive communication needs.
• Assist in vision-related training and wheelchair mobility as needed.
• Supervise and ensure safety in assigned areas and activities.
• Maintain student records and assist with grading as directed.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain consistent work hours.
