Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to contribute to patient care through collaborative relationships with managers and hospital councils, shaping decisions that impact outcomes and the future of nursing.

In this role you will evaluate patients, educate families, manage preoperative care, participate in site verification and emergencies, and work within a dynamic interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing (state of employment)
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start
• OR circulating experience required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education on peri-operative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices
• Work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team including surgeons and techs
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking and technical skills
• Monitor patient condition and document changes during shift
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up
