Job summary

COPE Community Services, Inc. seeks an Employment Specialist to work directly with adults and Transition Age Youth to support long-term recovery through vocational assessments, job skills training, and job search assistance. The role includes interview preparation and ongoing support to maintain employment.

The position also involves helping clients identify and apply for benefits when employment is not attainable, with a strong emphasis on client stability and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with relevant experience in rehabilitation or employment supports.
• Associate’s degree with two years behavioral health work experience including one year in rehab/employment supports.
• High School Diploma or GED with Peer Support Specialist certification plus three years behavioral health experience including one year in rehab/employment supports.
• High School Diploma or GED with Medical Assistant certification plus three years behavioral health experience including one year in rehab/employment supports.
• High School Diploma or GED with four years behavioral health experience including one year in rehab/employment supports.

Responsibilities

• Support long-term recovery through vocational and employment readiness assessments.
• Provide job skills training, job search assistance and interview preparation.
• Offer ongoing support to maintain employment for clients.
• Assist eligible clients with identifying and applying for available benefits when employment is not attainable.
• Comply with safety and regulatory requirements including background checks and drug screening.

Job description

Under the direct supervision of the PE2 Project Director, the Employment Specialist works directly with adults and Transition Age Youth (TAY) clients to support long-term recovery through vocational and employment readiness assessments, job skills training, job search assistance, interview preparation, and ongoing support to maintain employment.
