Job summary

York Community Resource Center is seeking an Employment Specialist to coordinate job placement services for participants and employer partners. You will screen applicants, help with resumes, and mentor individuals seeking employment.

You will develop career plans, maintain employment databases, and build strong employer relationships. The role includes coordinating job fairs, on-site interviews, follow-up services, and outreach activities to connect people with local opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Customer service oriented with problem-solving skills.
  • Previous recruitment and/or case management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identify employment needs with clients and assist in completing a career plan.
  • Complete intakes and conduct job screening for applicants.
  • Determine employment options by matching job features to strengths and needs and connecting to openings.
  • Assist participants with job search, resumes, applications, interview prep, and recruitment processes.
  • Develop and maintain a database of current job openings and promote opportunities.
  • Maintain a database of community resources, workforce training opportunities, and local employer needs; make referrals.
  • Build and maintain employer partner relationships to meet placement goals.
  • Coordinate job fairs and on-site employer interviews to facilitate placement.
  • Conduct follow-up services for all job seekers, including verification of placements.
  • Attend outreach events and recruitment activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Employment Specialist is responsible for the employment services within our company, being the point of contact for our employment participants and employer partners.

The Employment Specialist's responsibility also includes screening job applicants, helping with resumes/job applications, identifying barriers to employment, and providing appropriate referrals to potential employers or services.

This role is also in charge of developing, monitoring and evaluating employment participants' career plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with clients in in identifying their employment needs and assisting them to complete a career plan individual plan.

  • Keep an up-to-date database of community resources, workforce training opportunities, and local employer needs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Build and maintain employer partner relationships to meet and exceed job placement goals.
  • Coordinate job fairs and host on-site employer interview events to facilitate job placement.
  • Coordinate and conduct follow-up services for all job seekers, including verifying job placements.
  • Attend outreach events/ information tables and other recruitment activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and

experience.

  • A strong knowledge of computer software applications is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish are required.
