Job summary

Arc Herkimer is seeking an Employment Services Specialist (ESS) to empower people with varying abilities in their vocational goals. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a pay rate of $20 to $22.50 per hour.

Bachelor’s or Associate degrees with related experience or a high school diploma with substantial experience are acceptable, with a valid driver’s license required. ESS duties include career exploration, skill-building, and community involvement, plus on-site coaching at multiple Mohawk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Services, Business or related field or 2+ years of related experience with an Associates degree.
• High School diploma with three years of related experience required; willingness to drive personal vehicle.
• Employment Service Specialists may need additional qualifications, education, training, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Career search, building pre-employment skills, and helping to maintain successful continued employment.
• Coach individuals through career exploration, focusing on employment goals & passions
• Empower individuals with hard and soft skill-building through hands-on curriculums
• Enhance socialization and community involvement for individuals through active volunteerism
• Increase independence by aiding in application, resume, and interview preparations
• Facilitate supportive employment by helping individuals locate and maintain positions
• Ensure continued success with on-site job coaching
• Support individuals at various locations and places of employment throughout the Mohawk Valley.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business or related course of study
