Job summary

Socket.dev in New York is seeking a community-focused Employment Specialist to develop job leads and coordinate employment programs. You will engage employers, create outreach materials, and monitor daily service delivery with a team.

You will prepare placement reports, liaise with care managers, and support staff training. A valid NYS drivers license and transportation are required to meet on-site duties in the local area.

Qualifications

• ID/DD experience preferred.
• Valid NYS drivers license required.
• Own transportation with proof of insurance and registration.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Smartphone required.

Responsibilities

• Develops job leads by contacting employers in target industries; responding to job postings and ads; and conducting Internet searches.
• Prepares reports and correspondence regarding job development and placement efforts.
• Drafts marketing and promotional materials to advertise job placement services and activities.
• Coordinate and monitors daily operations and service delivery of Employment Programs in accordance with agency policies and procedures, adhering to OPWDD and SED regulations and guidelines.
• Directly supervise Employment Programs staff daily in regard to program operations.
• Assist in recruitment, training, and evaluation of Employment Specialists.
• Maintain necessary contacts with care managers, community-based agency representatives, family members, residence managers, and other providers of service.
