Job summary

Jackson Lewis P.C.'s Orlando office seeks an Of Counsel attorney with a strong background in employment litigation to join our team.

We defend and litigate a broad range of employment-related claims, advise employers on compliance, and represent clients in court, arbitrations, and mediations. The ideal candidate has 9+ years of experience, a Florida Bar in good standing, and supervisory capability.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• 9+ years of employment litigation experience, including leadership of cases in first-chair capacity.
• Current Florida Bar admission in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Defend and litigate employment-related lawsuits and agency charges
• Advise and train employers on employment and labor law issues
• Represent employers in court, arbitration, and mediations, including class/collective actions and discrimination cases
• Supervise associates and paralegals, delegating tasks and providing feedback

This position is for an Of Counsel attorney for the firm's Orlando office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges
• Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues
• Represent employers in court and arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases
• Class Action experience preferred but not required

Skills and Educational Requirements:

• JD from accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials
• 9+years of experience in employment litigation with significant experience managing and running litigation cases in a first-chair capacity
• Current FL Bar admission in good standing
• Supervisory experience over associate and paralegal work (delegating assignments and providing feedback)
• In-depth understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
• Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork
