Job summary

Job Path is seeking an energetic Employment Counselor to manage a caseload of ten to fifteen individuals in our Midtown Manhattan employment program. You will provide ongoing support, help participants build work skills, and coordinate with employers to ensure satisfaction with services.

The role requires strong communication, administrative proficiency, and a collaborative approach. Hybrid remote option available; two days in the office with NYC travel for community-based employment development.

Qualifications

• BA degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with administrative work and record keeping.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners.
• Ability to actively listen and collaborate.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Spreadsheets and web-based case notes.
• Strong networking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support to a caseload of ten to fifteen people in the employment program.
• Develop strategies to build work skills for independence.
• Address on-the-job issues with creative problem solving.
• Encourage participants to learn new skills and grow in their roles.
• Build positive relationships with coworkers, supervisors and managers.
• Collaborate with employers to ensure satisfaction with services.
• Support skill-building, advocacy and job development for career growth.
• Attend team meetings and trainings and communicate with supervisors.
• Maintain communication with families and support networks.
• Be flexible to provide weekend or after-hours support as needed.
• Train Direct Support Professionals who support caseloads.
