Job summary

Jericho Project in New York seeks a Career Counselor to provide workforce development services, coordinating with case management and Business Services to help tenants attain employment or educational goals. This role supports up to two sites, reporting to the Coordinator of Young Adult Employment Services.

Location is Gun Hill/The Laconia in the Bronx; compensation ranges from $53,000 to $55,000 annually. Non-exempt, full-time position with extensive outreach and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in workforce development for low-income individuals with barriers to employment.
• Must be able to travel across the five boroughs.
• High level of computer literacy and written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience with mental health/substance use recovery and homelessness preferred.
• Experience providing supported employment services to individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of AWARDS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of about 100 participants across multiple buildings to support education, training and employment goals.
• Maintain engagement in Workforce Opportunities services from outreach to assessments and service plans.
• Develop client engagement strategies and document progress notes; biweekly outreach.
