A Boston law firm is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its busy Employment and Litigation practices. The firm provides legal services to nonprofit, for-profit, public clients and individuals in the areas of employment, litigation, health and human services, real estate development and finance, affordable housing, and education.
Qualified candidates will have 4-8 years of experience in employment law or litigation. For the right candidate, applicants with more or less experience may be considered.
Qualified candidates will have litigation experience, including in the areas of general litigation, business litigation and/or employment litigation, with prior responsibility for handling matters throughout the life-cycle of a case, including drafting written discovery, pleadings, dispositive and non-dispositive motions and other court-related filings, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions in state and federal court and before state agencies, preparing cases for trial and participating in alternative dispute resolution.
The successful candidate will have top academic credentials, exceptional writing skills, a superior work ethic, the ability to think strategically and the ability to assume responsibility for hands-on employment and litigation matters. The candidate will also be able to work both independently and as part of a team and will have the ability to work independently with appropriate oversight. A business-minded individual with a desire to grow their practice over the long-term will be highly valued.
Massachusetts bar membership or the ability to waive in is required.
The compensation range for this position, which will be determined based on a candidate's relevant experience and productivity, is $130,000 to $180,000.
