Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Manager of Employee Relations to provide expert consultation and guidance to leaders and staff on complex HR matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations.

You will coach leaders, oversee investigations of harassment or policy violations, develop HR policies, analyze trends, and partner with Legal Services and Compliance to promote a fair, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience handling employee relations matters; 8 years may substitute for a degree.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HR principles and employment laws.
• Strong problem solving, investigative and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• PHR or SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Manages the employee relations functions within the human resources department.
• Develops and oversees policies and processes for conducting internal audits of employee issues and conflicts.
• Oversees investigations of complaints related to harassment, discrimination, or policy violations.
• Maintains accurate and confidential investigation records and documentation.
• Resolve escalated workplace issues with fair and consistent treatment.
• Coach and consult with leaders to improve employee engagement and retention.
• Recommend strategies that ensure legal and policy compliance.
• Assist employees in addressing their concerns and seeking HR guidance.
• Prepares HR policies and procedures related to employee relations.
• Updates policies based on legislative changes and ensures dissemination and education.
• Provides input to senior leadership on HR goals.
• Analyzes trends and metrics to improve engagement and retention.
• Meets with business units to review employee relations.
• Assesses needs and implements leadership development programs in employee relations.
• Develops tools to support managers on employee relations.
• Advises leaders on best employee relations practices.
• Educates on strategies for managing grievances.
• Works closely with HR Consultants to ensure adherence to laws and policies.
• Collaborates with Legal Services and Compliance on employee-related matters.
• Authority to hire, promote, demote, and administer evaluations.
• Other job functions as assigned.
