Job summary

American Place Casino is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager for the swing shift to lead the ER team and oversee investigations, policy compliance, and accommodations. You will partner with HR leadership to ensure a fair and productive work environment across the property.

The role requires strong knowledge of labor laws, ADA accommodations, and a track record in employee relations within fast-paced settings.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of progressive employee relations experience, preferably in a casino environment.
• 5+ years of HR or related experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred)
• Experience managing ADA accommodation processes and workplace investigations
• Thorough knowledge of labor law (FMLA, ADA, workers comp)
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
• Proficient in HR systems (UKG a plus)
• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Organized, with strong documentation and case-tracking discipline
• Flexibility with work schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and lead the Employee Relations Generalist team
• Champion a fair, respectful workplace culture and handle employee relations matters
• Serve as primary intake for workplace concerns with timely, compliant investigations
• Conduct investigations and recommend corrective action
• Own case documentation and status tracking for investigations, leaves, and separations
• Report ER metrics to the Director of HR and suggest policy updates
• Partner with leaders on performance management and progressive discipline
• Review documentation for policy consistency in disciplinary decisions
• Audit HR policy administration for compliance
• Own exit interview process and analyze separation data
• Monitor turnover from an ER perspective and identify trends
• Manage all IDES unemployment claim activity, including hearings
• Record and monitor FMLA/LOA/STD requests and status
• Manage ADA accommodations and coordinate with managers
• Handle workers' comp and short-term disability claims with Risk/Security
• Ensure regulatory compliance and ER standards
• Report ER metrics to Director of HR
• Contribute to other projects to meet company goals
