Job summary

Guidehouse seeks an Employee Relations Consultant Leader to oversee a team delivering strategic ER guidance to business leaders, managers, and HR partners. You will drive consistency, risk mitigation, and high-quality support across the organization, partnering with Legal, HRBPs, and investigations.

The role requires 10+ years in ER or related HR areas, strong leadership, and experience in centralized ER models, with a focus on compliant, practical solutions in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of related HR experience.
• Significant experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Employment Practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state EEO laws and state HR policies.
• Experience building, scaling, and leading teams in large, global, matrixed organizations.
• Experience leading employee relations professionals in a complex, matrixed, or multi-business environment.
• Strong experience advising on performance issues, misconduct, workplace behavior concerns, policy application, corrective action, and terminations.
• Experience working within a centralized Employee Relations model.
• Ability to manage sensitive, high-risk, and high-visibility issues with sound judgment and discretion.
• Strong understanding of case management, documentation standards, issue triage, and cross-functional partnership.
• Experience partnering with Legal, HRBPs, and/or centralized investigations functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communications and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Employee Relations Consultants aligned to business segments, functions, or geographies.
• Establish clear expectations and standards for consultant performance, judgment, responsiveness, and risk management.
• Provide ongoing direction, case consultation, and escalation support on sensitive or high-risk matters.
• Build team capability in employee relations consulting, manager coaching, issue assessment, and policy application.
• Partner with Investigations on scope alignment, context, and post-investigation implementation.
• Collaborate with ER Operations to improve tools, workflows, and case documentation practices.
• Contribute to broader ER strategy, operating model, and organizational readiness.
• Support organizational restructuring efforts and large-scale reductions.
• Stay up to date on employment laws and ensure policy compliance.
