Job summary

Sundt is hiring a Project Engineer to serve as the technical source of information for the project, with thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You’ll respond to drawings questions, manage change orders, and maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

This position offers a clear progression through Steps I, II, and Senior, with opportunities for growth and leadership on complex construction

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and interdependencies among functional units.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training with 3–4 years of similar experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to supervise Field Engineer positions if required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of PMP components and change management to ensure project execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with CPM; coordinate submittals and review for contract compliance.
• Understand prime contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, and allowances; manage budgeting and cost control.
• Maintain 'As-built' contract documents; compile close-out requirements (OA manuals, warranties).
• Participate in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepare/maintain quantity reporting mechanisms; coordinate meeting agendas and minutes.
• Prepare/review change orders and manage change order log; distribute documents.
• Identify potential claims and mitigate effects to prevent claims.
