Job summary

Cogent is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to cover a growing Nebraska territory. You will identify and pursue new rental opportunities for dewatering pumps and engineered pumping solutions, building relationships with contractors and municipal customers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in solution-based sales or selling a product with a service element.
• Ability to build relationships and navigate complex sales processes with a diverse customer base.
• Strong technical mindset and the ability to convey complex ideas engagingly.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative ownership-driven culture.
• Proven growth in a territory-based sales role.
• Construction management or pump equipment background.
• Strong network of contacts in construction/contractor sectors.

Responsibilities

• Generate profitable sales revenue by renting pumps and engineered pumping solutions for short- or long-term projects.
• Establish new rental accounts via phone calls and in-person visits to potential customers.
• Present turnkey services to potential customers.
• Ensure project plans and updates are well communicated to customers and internal staff.
• Maintain knowledge of all rental products, pricing, terms, sales, and policies.
• Drive new business through proactive outreach, understanding customer needs, and delivering tailored solutions.
• Lead negotiations to win business.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand and convey the value of our solutions to prospective customers.
• Manage your territory effectively by conforming to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
