USI Insurance Services in Elmwood Park, NJ is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to serve as the day-to-day contact for client accounts. You will coordinate with carriers, educate clients on compliance topics, and set up new group contracts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in employee benefits industry or related marketplace.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Accident & Health license is required or ability to obtain within three months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
• Educate, advise and aid clients on all Compliance topics. Including, but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform.
• Set up new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients.
• Manage the renewal process including the preparation of appropriate contractual changes.
• Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities.
• Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
• Regular client contact and in-person attendance at client meetings as needed.
• Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
• May be responsible for the marketing and placement of new benefit products.
• Prepare client application for review
• Determine most appropriate carriers
• Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings
• Make recommendations to clients
• Process all policy changes, endorsements and other requests as needed.
• Resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems.
• Special projects as needed.
