Job summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking an EB Account Manager to manage employee benefits accounts and serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, ensuring satisfaction and compliance.

In this role you will coordinate with carriers, educate clients on ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500 and health care reform, oversee renewals and contract changes.

The position requires 2+ years in employee benefits, a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in employee benefits or related marketplace.
• Strong understanding of benefit plan design, funding arrangements, and compliance.
• Active Life and Disability license or eligibility within 4 months of employment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail with ability to self-review for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of business, primarily fully insured clients, with some self-insured plans as applicable.
• Serve as the main liaison between clients and insurance carriers, delivering proactive and personalized support.
• Educate and advise clients on employee benefits compliance matters (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500).
• Set up new group insurance contracts and oversee annual renewal process and changes.
• Implement and manage client programs such as wellness initiatives and communications strategies.
• Support marketing and placement of new benefit products, including carrier evaluations and quotes.
• Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Champion cross-selling initiatives and contribute to growth and retention of client relationships.
• Coordinate, manage, and participate in client meetings, including on-site meetings as needed.
• Develop employee communications for renewals, enrollment, and benefit changes; provide resolution support.
