Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an experienced Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor to join our clinical team. This hybrid role delivers confidential services remotely, in the office, and at client sites through in-person, phone, and video interactions.

You will conduct assessments, brief counseling, coaching, crisis response, and training, helping employees access support and resources while collaborating to improve service quality and client experience.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or related behavioral health field.
  • Current LMHC or LMSW licensure required; other credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates on team projects to strengthen EAP service delivery.
  • Provides consultation on workplace concerns to employees and organizations.
  • Coordinates referrals with HR and leadership for employee performance issues.
  • Conducts clinical assessments to evaluate risk and needs; determines appropriate level of care.
  • Supports on-site responses following workplace incidents and provides debriefing.
  • Develops and delivers EAP orientations and training sessions for staff.
  • Represents EAP at health fairs and wellness events.
  • Fosters cross-department collaboration to improve client experience.

This hybrid position delivers services remotely, in the office, and at client locations through in-person, telephone, and video-based interactions.The EAP Counselor supports individuals and groups through clinical assessments, brief solution-focused counseling, coaching, consultation, mediation, crisis response, and educational training. The counselor evaluates each client’s needs and connects them with appropriate support through skill-building, case management, community resources, and referrals for longer-term therapy when needed.This role also develops and presents training programs and collaborates with EAP clinical and administrative staff to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and the overall client experience. Type of Opportunity: Full time Job Exempt: Yes Job is based: Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center Work Shift: Days (United States of America)Responsibilities:Collaborates on team projects designed to strengthen and improve EAP service delivery for employees, client organizations, and business partners.Provides consultation to employees and organizations regarding a variety of workplace concerns.Partners with Human Resources and organizational leaders to coordinate referrals related to employee performance and workplace concerns.Conducts clinical assessments to evaluate risk, substance use and dependency concerns, and the appropriate level of care.Facilitates on-site support for work teams following critical workplace incidents, including debriefing and psychological first aid.Represents the EAP at company health fairs and other employee-wellness events.Develops and presents EAP orientation sessions for employees and managers.Actively supports and collaborates with colleagues to foster a high-performing, team-oriented environment.Builds and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues across departments and organizational levels.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required Education and LicensureA master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field is required.Current licensure as an LMHC or LMSW, at minimum, is required.
