Job summary

Housing Resources Inc. is seeking an Intake Specialist to join the Coordinated Entry Team in Kalamazoo. The role focuses on completing intake and shelter access screening to build accurate client profiles, delivering compassionate service, and coordinating with partner agencies.

This position supports 24/7 operations, requires effective data entry, teamwork, and strong communication. The candidate should have a High School Diploma and at least 1 year in customer service; lived homelessness

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service.
  • Lived experience with homelessness or housing crisis preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients by telephone, virtual meetings, or in person to complete intakes.
  • Execute the intake schedule and reschedule as needed.
  • Conduct community outreach to complete intakes with underserved people.
  • Participate in Coordinated Entry meetings with partnering agencies.
  • Document all client and agency activities accurately in records within two business days.
  • Communicate information to clients verbally and in writing clearly and professionally.
  • Utilize live data entry to avoid duplication of records.
