Duke Energy's Emerging Technology Office seeks a Technology Development Manager to lead and coordinate strategic initiatives in engineering and emerging tech, driving assessment, evaluation, and demonstration projects.

The role monitors technology trends, guides cross-functional teams, develops project plans, and ensures milestones, deliverables, and reports align with Duke Energy's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. Travel 5-15% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience.
  • In lieu of degree, a High School Diploma/GED with 11+ years of related experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor technology trends and inform ETO strategy.
  • Provide analytical leadership for technology assessments and roadmapping.
  • Manage venture capital and external innovation relationships.
  • Conduct studies and apply technical knowledge to support decisions.
  • Lead pilot project plans ensuring alignment of objectives, scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Develop test plans and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Lead full project lifecycle from opportunity to closeout.
