Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Technology Development Manager for the Emerging Technology Office to lead technology assessment, pilot planning, and demonstrations across generation, storage, EVs, and grid modernization.

You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage project plans and stakeholder engagement, and help drive regulatory and external communications while advancing Duke Energy’s technology strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, engineering, or CS required; 7+ years experience preferred.
• Master's or PhD in relevant field considered in lieu of parts of experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology assessment, roadmapping, and demonstrations for emerging tech.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, and external partners.
• Develop pilot plans, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Support regulatory filings and external communications related to technology initiatives.
• Manage relationships with industry, startups, universities, and venture entities.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science

Masters degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science (+5 years experience in lieu of Bachelor)

PhD in Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science (+3 years experience in lieu of Bachelor)
