Duke Energy’s Emerging Technology Office seeks a Technology Development Manager to drive evaluation, demonstration, and deployment of innovative energy technologies across generation, storage, EVs, and grid optimization. The role requires coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, developing project plans, and engaging stakeholders to advance pilots and technology transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science; minimum 7 years of related work experience
  • In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED plus 11 years of related work experience
  • Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
  • Experience with technology assessment, roadmapping, and demonstrations in utility/industrial settings

Responsibilities

  • Monitor emerging technology trends and inform ETO strategy.
  • Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives and project activities across the lifecycle.
  • Develop test plans, coordinate milestones, and stakeholder communications.
  • Represent Duke Energy externally and support regulatory filings as needed
