Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a seasoned engineer to provide technical leadership in design and project management for power systems. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and executing complex engineering projects in a utility environment.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with standards, and support station capital and O&M projects while maintaining strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years with Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 10+ years related experience with High School Diploma/GED
• 6+ years with BS in Engineering/Engineering Technology or related field

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise in identifying, analyzing and resolving complex problems
• Plans, organizes, estimates, schedules and monitors work activities
• Prepares technical reports, calculations and sketches
• Manages complex projects and disseminates knowledge to improve competitiveness
• Develops positive working relationships and communicates effectively
• Supports company goals and represents the company professionally
• Resolving emergent technical requests
• Maintaining plant Risk Grid for systems/equipment
• Providing technical support for station capital and O&M projects
• Overseeing vendor contracts and testing requirements for design changes
