Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Tyler, TX is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training to develop leadership within the club and drive department performance across Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience. The program offers focused development and hands-on experience aligned to a designated track.

You will mentor teammates, ensure GOLD standards, safety, and training, while partnering with the Club Manager to deliver exceptional member service and meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience leading large teams in retail preferred.
• Experience with inventory and sales analytics is a plus.
• Must be able to obtain ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members to ensure capable staffing.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling to align with trends and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management to maintain in-stock conditions.
• Champion member experience standards (GAA, GOLD) and ensure club readiness.
