Job summary

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Spring, TX is hiring a driven Veterinary Technician for the Patient Care department. You will calculate basic medical math, handle patients compassionately, and monitor therapy with appropriate routes and durations.

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate basic medical math.
• Compassionate, calm, and gentle with patients.
• Understanding of commonly used medications and monitoring effects.
• Reading and following orders written on treatment sheets.

Responsibilities

• Calculate basic medical math and monitor patient status.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place peripheral IV catheters.
• Alert Veterinarian if patient status or vitals change outside normal ranges.
• Perform physical exams including heart rate, mucous membranes, and temperature.
• Support Veterinarian and client through euthanasia process.
