Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician in a fast-paced emergency/critical care setting.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and use related equipment.
• Comfort with triage, vital signs assessment, radiography and CPR basics.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and record vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Understand normal ranges for heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, BP and O2 saturation.
• Obtain and interpret vital signs and communicate changes to Veterinarian.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer meds via appropriate routes.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Place feeding tubes and central line catheters as needed.
• Mentor and train other staff members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
