Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Louisville seeks an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician to support anesthesia, triage, and critical care in a fast-paced setting. The role involves anesthesia induction/monitoring, radiography, vital signs assessment, and rapid response to emergencies.

Applicants must be a licensed veterinary technician with emergency experience; VTS candidates are welcomed and paid commensurately. A supportive team and opportunities for advancement are provided.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician required.
• Experience in emergency/critical care preferred.
• VTS credentialing eligible candidates compensated commensurately.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Triage emergencies and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with correct technique.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Obtain/interpret blood pressure; CPR when needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentor and train coworkers.
• Demonstrate patience and empathy to clients.
