Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Animal Emergency Clinic - O'Fallon is hiring a Veterinary Assistant (Overnight/Swing) to support veterinarians and technicians. Duties include cleaning and preparing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and assisting with clerical work. A sign-on bonus up to $1,500 is offered based on experience.

The O'Fallon clinic operates 24/7 with advanced capabilities, providing emergency care for pets and support for families in the St. Louis area.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 year of experience in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, record weight and vital signs.
• Triage patients, assist with physical exams, treatments and medications as directed.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Maintain medical records and hospital equipment.
• Keep the hospital clean and safe for patients and staff.

Education

18+ years of age or older

High school diploma or equivalent

0–1 year of experience in veterinary medicine
