Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 network of ER hospitals. You’ll handle a wide range of emergencies, from routine to complex surgeries, including exotics when needed. You’ll work with a supportive team and access VEG Education programs and mentorship to grow your ER career.

You’ll triage, examine, diagnose, and treat patients, while building strong client relationships. The role supports flexible schedules, with opportunities to advance within our national VEG

Qualifications

DVM or equivalent degree is required.
Live and breathe emergency medicine, including surgery and endoscopy.
Thrive in a team-oriented environment and hospital setting.
Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg with/without assistance.

Responsibilities

Answer medical questions over the phone and see patients promptly.
Perform physical exams, imaging, bloodwork, and biopsies as needed.
Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans and communicate options to clients.
Assist in emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures as required.
Educate clients on aftercare and preventative measures.
