Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to provide top-tier care for patients, including exotics, in a fast-paced ER setting. You will join a mentorship-focused environment with on-going CE and structured support to advance your career.

You’ll handle emergencies from routine to complex cases, perform surgeries and endoscopies, and work with a team that values the VEG culture and patient-first goals.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Emergency medicine experience and endoscopy preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 kg.
• Nights, weekends, and holidays required on a rotating basis.
• Work well in a fast-paced, diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes process.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam findings.
• Perform physical exams, ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork and biopsies.
• Create diagnostic/therapeutic plans and communicate options to clients.
• Prepare estimates and present them to customers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate clients on aftercare.
