Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to handle a broad range of emergencies, including surgeries and diagnostics, in a fast-paced setting. You will join a team focused on mentorship, continuous learning, and patient- and client-centered care.

You will work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in a dynamic ER environment, with opportunities for growth, CE, and travel stipends. VEG emphasizes teamwork and high-quality care for all patients, including exotics.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in emergency veterinary medicine preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of VEG Triage.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam.
• Perform physical exams and required tests (ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, biopsies).
• Create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan and discuss with clients.
• Educate clients on diagnoses, options and aftercare.
• Perform emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and estimates.
