Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents during stressful moments.

Applicants should have a CVT/RVT/LVMT/LVT credential in the practice state, 1+ year of veterinary tech experience (emergency preferred), and be capable of lifting up to 25 kg.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the practice state is required.
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 kg (up to 40 kg with assistance).
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and treatments across emergency cases.
• Support triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and related procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team and help shape care plans.
• Perform CPR and other emergency interventions as trained.
• Utilize diagnostics, imaging, sampling, and airway management as needed.
• Operate anesthesia equipment and advanced techniques as available.
