Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Palo Alto, CA. You will join a fast-paced ER team providing high-quality care from triage to critical care, collaborating with doctors to deliver compassionate, evidence-based treatment.

The role requires CVT/RVT/LVMT with AVMA-accredited education, 1+ year of experience in veterinary tech, and the ability to work nights/weekends. VEG offers growth, mentorship, and a supportive environment for VEGgies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited associate degree preferred.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the practice state is required.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity; strong communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing on emergencies.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with CPR and advanced procedures (IVs, CRIs, transfusions).
• Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement; assist with endoscopy/ultrasound when needed.
