Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Denver, CO seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will triage, treat, monitor, and support both patients and their families through stressful emergencies, collaborating with doctors to deliver compassionate care.

You are a credentialed veterinary technician with at least 1 year of ER or specialty experience, able to lift, stand for long hours, and work nights/weekends on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology strongly preferred
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state of practice required; VTS in ECC/IM/anesthesia a plus
• 1+ years in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity
• Excellent communicator, stay calm under pressure, support team

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge
• Handle emergency cases and assist doctors with diagnostics, anesthesia, and monitoring
• Perform procedures from IVs and CRIs to transfusions and advanced care
• Collaborate with team to shape care plans and keep patient care flowing
• Carry out anesthesia for fragile patients as needed
• Use diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement as required
• Operate advanced techniques in your toolkit as trained
