Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency care team. You’ll handle cases from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with doctors and teammates to deliver gold-standard, compassionate care.

You’ll engage in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents in stressful moments. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the practice state required; VTS a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat patients across emergencies and routine care.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from intake to discharge.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Operate with team to maintain smooth patient flow and care plans.
• Perform CPR and participate in high-stakes procedures as needed.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubing placements.
• Support anesthesia for fragile patients and utilize advanced tools.
• Collaborate with doctors and staff to ensure compassionate care.
