Job summary

VEG is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You’ll perform triage, treatments, and critical nursing care, collaborating with doctors to deliver compassionate, gold-standard care for pets and their families.

You’ll handle anesthesia, diagnostics, monitoring, and advanced procedures while growing your clinical skills in a high-energy hospital environment. Night/weekend shifts and ongoing learning are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the practicing state is required; VTS a plus.
• 1+ year veterinary technician experience; emergency or specialty care preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Excellent communicator; calm under pressure.
• Stand, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Deliver meds, monitoring, and care using IVs/CRIs and transfusions as needed.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection; place tubes.
• Collaborate with physicians; contribute to care planning and flow.
• Perform CPR; participate in RECOVER training and instruction.
• Operate advanced techniques and anesthesia for patient comfort.
