Job summary

VEG is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join front-line emergency care teams. You’ll work a range of cases, assist doctors, and deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.

You’ll join a collaborative team in a fast-paced ER environment, with opportunities for growth, mentorship, and a strong focus on compassionate patient and client support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited degree preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician in the state of VEG practice.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Able to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with care through tests and treatments.
• Provide nursing care and emotional support in critical moments.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, transfusions and more.
• Communicate effectively with the team and help shape plans.
• Perform CPR and other advanced techniques as needed.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and tubes.
• Assist anesthesia for fragile patients.
• Utilize advanced tools like central lines and ultrasounds.
