Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our CA Costa Mesa team. You’ll work on the front lines of emergency veterinary care, triaging and delivering compassionate, high‑quality care with doctors and staff.

You’ll cover anesthesia, monitoring, diagnostics, and critical care nursing, growing your skills in a fast-paced hospital while supporting pet parents in stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AVMA-accredited associate degree preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state where VEG practice is located.
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• Proficiency with practice management software and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat emergencies across cases from minor to complex.
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and monitoring in critical moments.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and advanced nursing tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team and pet parents to guide care.
