Job summary

VEG in Manhattan Beach, CA is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will work closely with doctors to provide rapid triage, treatment, anesthesia support, and critical care nursing for a wide range of cases including exotics.

You’ll perform IVs, monitor patients, assist with imaging, and ensure compassionate care for pets and their families during high-stress moments. Flexible scheduling and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty preferred
• Credentials in state VEG practice location required; VTS a plus for compensation considerations
• Strong communication and ability to work under pressure
• Comfort with fast-paced environment and noisy clinics

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat emergency patients, supporting doctors
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and monitoring
• Collaborate with team to plan care and maintain smooth patient flow
• Perform CPR and assist with anesthesia and imaging

Education

Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology (AVMA accredited preferred)

Credentialed as a veterinary technician in the practicing state
