Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group in Burlington, VT is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Relief) to join our front-line team. As a per diem tech, you will handle a wide range of emergency cases, work closely with doctors, and provide gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll participate in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while growing your skills.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credentialed in the state where VEG practice is located
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role; emergency preferred
• Able to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance)
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and monitoring
• Communicate with team and help shape care plans
• Perform CPR and other advanced techniques as trained
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubing placement
• Utilize advanced techniques like central lines and ultrasounds
