Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Phoenix, AZ seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You’ll perform triage, treatments, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents in stressful moments.

You’ll collaborate with doctors and teammates to deliver gold-standard care, advance your skills, and contribute to a fast-paced hospital environment that values empathy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician in the state the VEG practice is located; VTS in ECC/IM/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergencies or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR systems.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; able to support teammates.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in emergencies from triage to discharge.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and anesthesia as part of critical care.
• Collaborate with doctors to plan and adjust patient care; maintain clear communication.
• Perform CPR and use advanced techniques as needed; handle diagnostics and monitoring.
• Support high-stress cases with empathy for clients and pets.
