Healing Hearts Animal Urgent Care in Round Rock, Texas is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our emergency team. You will provide rapid triage, lead advanced nursing care, and support veterinarians during ER procedures, with a focus on patient stability and compassionate client communication.

The role requires a Texas LVT with 5+ years of experience in emergency/critical care, ability to work evenings and weekends, and a commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years veterinary technician experience.
• Active Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician.
• Proficiency in emergency and critical care nursing, IV catheter placement, fluids, and medication calculations.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Proficiency in monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs.
• Excellent communication and client service skills with pet owners.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with veterinarians and staff.
• Recent graduates pending VTNE testing or transfer of license encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients to determine severity and prioritize treatment.
• Perform advanced nursing care, including IV catheters, administering medications and fluids, monitoring hospitalized patients, and critical care support.
• Assist veterinarians during emergency procedures, diagnostics, surgery, and resuscitation efforts, including CPR.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs, document changes, and communicate concerns to the team.
• Educate and support pet owners by explaining treatment plans, discharge instructions, and home care.
