Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team in Austin, TX. You will handle a wide range of emergencies from triage to critical care, working closely with doctors to deliver gold-standard care with empathy for pets and their owners.

Ideal candidates are CVT/RVT/LVMT credentialed, with 1+ year of urgent care experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVMT) in the practice state required.
• 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician; emergency experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR software.
• Excellent communicator; able to stay calm under pressure in emergencies.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (assistance up to 40 kg).
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a rotating schedule.
• Comfortable in a noisy environment with strong odors.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care from triage to discharge for emergencies.
• Deliver IV therapy, CRIs, medications, and monitoring.
• Perform anesthesia support and critical care nursing as needed.
• Communicate clearly with veterinarians, staff, and pet parents.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubes.
• Maintain clinical readiness and uphold compassionate patient care.
