Healing Hearts Animal Urgent Care in Round Rock, Texas is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our emergency team. Responsibilities Include
  • Provide rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients to determine the severity of illness or injury and prioritize treatment.
  • Perform advanced nursing care, including placing IV catheters, administering medications and fluids, monitoring hospitalized patients, and providing critical care support.
  • Assist veterinarians during emergency procedures, diagnostics, surgery, and resuscitation efforts, including CPR and life‑saving interventions.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs, accurately documenting changes in condition and communicating concerns to the veterinary team.
  • Educate and support pet owners by explaining treatment plans, discharge instructions, home care requirements, and updates on their pet's condition during emergency and critical care situations.
Schedule and Compensation
  • Compensation: $28-$30per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed evenings (Monday-Friday) and weekends. The weekly schedule will be:
    • 3 weekday shifts (1pm-11pm)
    • 1 weekend shift (9am-7pm)
Full-Time Benefits Package
  • Bonus Package: $2000 based on active, good‑standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Texas
  • CE Allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Set
  • 5+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good‑standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Texas
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Strong emergency and critical care nursing skills, including patient triage, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy administration, and medication calculations.
    • Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment while managing multiple urgent cases simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in monitoring anesthesia, patient vital signs, and recognizing changes in patient condition that require immediate intervention.
    • Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to provide compassionate support and clear medical information to pet owners during stressful situations.
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, working effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client care staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
